Pendleton Fell Race – 5m/1500ft 30th Aug.

A much tougher course greeted the runners this year as the grass and reeds had flourished on this summers weather! Katie Ingram (41.58) used the race once more in her run up to the World Trophy race next month in Switzerland as a sharpener, winning her race in 24th place overall, but not liking the very tough conditions underfoot. Second home for Horwich was Claire Burns (47.13) running her third race of the week and doing well for fourth lady – just one second behind third!
Pete Kevan showed that his continued training is paying dividends with a fine run in 68th place – with 137 running. Next in was Barry Chapman (49.11) running well for 79th place, and finally Ian Smith (53.34) in 107th taking a day off from officiating and enjoying his day out.
