PBW Relay 2011.

Sunday 30th January 2011.

It was another cold day for this years Pennine Bridleway Relay, with near perfect conditions for running, as long as you could avoid the patches of ice. (Some of us didn’t)

Horwich had three strong teams in attendance, with high hopes for a good result. It was always going to be difficult to repeat last years win with so many strong teams out, but on the day all three teams ran well, and the fact that all finished in the top half of the field says a lot.

I’ll leave you to do your own analysis of the results (link below) but I was especially pleased with the B team finishing 24th overall, and 4th B team (I think) and the mixed team finishing 46th overall. The A team ran well for a 5th place that is equal to our history of performing well in this event.

As one of many people who put the teams together for this years relay I would like to thank those who have helped in this task. I’d also like to thank all the runners, some ran enthusiastically, and some ran despite carrying an injury or it not really being their thing, but from the feedback I have had so far, everyone had a great day out.
