Standish Hall Trail Race – 25/10/08
I love this race, partly because it’s like my local race but mainly because it was the first trail race I ever did when I started running last year, and I had been looking forward to it for about a month. This time though it was my first race in a Horwich vest.
Despite the weathermen telling us the rain would start before lunch and continue all day, the rain stopped and held off for the whole race. Plenty of mud and puddles welcomed the runners from the start of this two lap 10k race but it was definitely an enjoyable one for me.
With only two finishers for Horwich, Stuart Edmondson (40:03) was much higher up the field than I was, finishing in 14th place, well done Stuart. I finished 84th (54:41) out of the 115 finishers, managing to shave just over 5 mins off last years time so I was very happy with that.
