Several runners used this trail race as a substitute for their Sunday run, but did so to good effect with our two lady representatives – having raced the day before – doing very well picking up category prizes. Lisa Heyes fresh from her Parbold win took a fine second place in a time of 1.27 31. and finished first 0/35, Suzanne Budgett having had a tough run in the mud at Hyndburn did exceptionally well finishing fifth overall and first 0/45, lets hope they both have an easy Mondays training!
In the men’s race Rob Jackson (1.15.22) ran very well as our first counter in fifth overall, missing out on first vet by a minute to Mark Russell of Bolton Tri Club. Guy Heyes had a super run in 7th clocking 1.19.25. Karl Ward was another double racer over the weekend but didn’t seem to show the effect of his effort at Hyndburn as he finished 20th in 1.24.18, giving Horwich the team prize – if there was one! Barry Chapman was our sixth counter running well for 105th and a time of 1.42 34. 211 ran.
