Lostock 6 – Sun 22nd Feb

Lisa Heyes continued on her winning ways completing the course in 36.42 – taking nearly a minute off last years time – and leading the ladies to first team. Lisa finished strongly after passing early leader Christine Howard just after half way. Suzanne Budgett (39.33) gave great support as second counter, and also collected the 0/45 prize. Very pleasing to see one of our junior ladies in the team prize as Bethan Faulkner (43.05) finished well to take the U/18 spot and our third counter. Christine Boardman continues to improve finishing in 43.54, faster than last year on a slower course this year, with a tough head wind hitting the runners along Chorley new Road. Gillian Burnell had super run taking the first 0/55 and finishing in 50.22.

In the men’s race just 5 places separated the first four teams – how close is that?
Unfortunately we were the fourth (35) with Blackburn taking the honours (30) Salford second (31) and Bolton third (32).

Colin Rigby (33.15) ran very well to lead the lads home in 8th with Guy Heyes (33.43) not feeling ace at the start – but showing that its how you feel at the finish that counts – running bril to take 10th, Steve Nolan (34.47) and Andy Neary ran stride for stride with Steve just pulling away on the run in to finish 17th & 18th respectively. Steve also collected the 0/45 prize.

We had a good turn out of 22 runners full results at :
