Swinton 10mile road race

Congratulations to James Kevan who won the Swinton 10 mile road race over the weekend, establishing a new course record previously set last year by Martyn Bell, and making this the second year a Horwich RMI Harrier has won, and also to Kevan, Jackson and McMyler for earning Horwich RMI the 1st team prize.

The race is in its 2nd year after replacing the Annual Swinton Half Marathon. The race also incorporated the penultimate event in the Central Lancs Grand Prix and over 200 runners competed over the undulating 2 lap course.

Horwich Harrier James Kevan had a super run to win the race ahead of Bolton Harrier Tony Valentine. Next for Horwich was Rob Jackson in a fine 5th place and 1st vet over 45. This was also Rob’s 25th consecutive Swinton Half/10M Race! Sean McMyler aslo had a great run in 12th place and 2nd vet over 45.
