Rivington Half Marathon 1st Oct

On one of the hottest days of the year a large field of over 360 runners competed on the trails around Rivington going up to White Coppice and back, the winner was Matt Roberts in 1.20.38 an excellent time in the conditions. First home for us and winning the ladies race was Lynsey Brindle fresh from winning the Thyon -Dixence race in Switzerland and is running the best she ever has and was 19th overall in 1.36.46 a tremendous result. Paul Boardman running with shin splints was 30th in 1.41.27 followed by Albert Sunter 41st in 1.43.52 and Kevin Greenhall 45th 1.44.29, Tony Hesketh was 60th and first over sixty beating all the 55s in 1.47.39, Paul Hesketh running his first Half Marathon was pleased with getting under two hours in 122nd and a time of 1.59.04, and Paul Wilcockson finished in 175th place in a time of 2:05:52.
