Paddy’s Pole fell Race – 4.5m/1100ft

Tuesday night saw this years running of the Paddy’s Pole fell race
organised by Preston Harriers. It was a lovely clear evening, quite warm
with not too much wind to cool you down. Natural England put a limit of
100 runners on this race, so the race was pre-entry, but after checking
the website on the day a note suggested that runners should just come
along and enter on the day as it was only just over 1/2 full.

This was the first time I had been up Parlick and the run back down to
the finish was fun. There were two Horwich runners, Graham Schofield had
a good run finishing 11th & 1st V50 (34:50) and I straggled along much
further down the field coming home in 79th place (51:17).
