Saturday 25th May

Alastair Murray’s campaign for England Masters selection moved 1 stage closer as he delivered this weekend a PB 5k time in what was the 1st of 5 summer 5k races at Salt Ayre track.

Three harriers made the journey north with 97 starting the race and local Bolton Harrier Tom Carson taking the honours on the night in 15m 28s.

3rd Ali Murray – 15m 49s
27th Billy Martin – 18m 15s
84th Julie Williamson – 25m 24s

This race is an out and back course, where momentum is lost slightly as you navigate the half way point around a 180 degree turn.

This performance bodes well for Ali who now fine tunes his training and bid for the forthcoming BMAF 5k championships in 3 weeks time.
