Harrock Hill Race No 3 – 22nd July
A good turn out of fifteen runners from the club on the night, with Paul Muller (34.26) back on form to take his rightful 1st 0/50 prize and finish 5th overall. Nigel Clementson is making steady progress with his training showing in his 11th place and a good time of 36.12. Brendan Bolland next in 36.39 not quite on his usual form for this race, but doing well off the little training he is doing. Wilf Brindle took a massive three and a half minutes off his race time from last year running 37.49, motivated no doubt by the magic 0/40 tag. Albert Sunter now has another club vet to chase finishing just behind Wilf in 37.56. Lindsey Brindle’s form continues to improve as she took 3rd lady in 39.45, leaving Dad Brent (40.27) in her wake again, this time by over a minute. Mike Crook (40.09) had a cracker taking the 1st 0/60 and leading Brent in, not something you see every day! Pete Ramsdale (43.57) must have been pleased with his position even if his time was a little down from May. Nice to see Rachel Metcalfe (44.22) completing her third race in the series, and just holding off Tony Varley (44.42) who made 3rd vet 0/60. Bethan Faulkner was the 1st U/18 running 44.58. Ian Smith ran 48 dead, with Mark Sammon definitely on the up with a time of 49.26 for 97th from 124 running. Michele Sunter continues on her busy race program finishing 112th in 53.15.
