Lowther Run fell race 13.5m/1500ft – Sun 9th Aug.
Suzanne Notches Up Another Win.
Suzanne Budgett was our sole representative in the Lowther Run this year – which was eventually tagged as a 12.5 miles 1,400′ ft race, but it was Garmin’d by a couple of people at 13.2miles. Route description was: weather hot and clammy – scenery was beautiful with little or no rough fell, with this year’s new route including quite a wide river crossing followed by a longish, stiff climb up to Knipe Scar. As always there’s a little sting in the tail by a nice uphill gradient at the finish. Suzanne started off slowly and was in second place for the first 35 minutes, but eventually pulled clear and never looked back, so was pleased with her performance finishing over three minutes clear by the finish.
