A dry and very cold morning greeted 233 runners at this years Winter Hill fell race. Good conditions for the time of year made for fast times with the first four running quicker than the previous record set last year. Darren Kay set out for the win and was rewarded with fourth place in a time of 1:29:22. Next harrier home was Mick Green, with a great run in 11th and 1st V45. Final member of the Horwich team was Alastair Murray taking 16 minutes off his previous best time and finishing in 15th, the team finishing second to Pudsey. Graham Schofield finished 1st V50 and 20th overall.
Two ladies ran, with Suzanne Budgett finishing second overall in an excellent time of 2:06:01. Emma Perrin ran the race for the first time and did great to finish 12th in 2:14:10.
17 Horwich finished.
