Natassia Dacre’s “thank you” delivered to Horwich Rotary on 22nd Jan 2009.

“Good afternoon Horwich Rotary. My name is Natassia Dacre. I started athletics when I was 7 years old and I have seen all of the changes that have taken place.

I am now 12 years old and I train with the under 13’s. The event that I like to do most is Javelin and my dad says I am ranked 14th in the North West last year. I hope to improve on it this year.

I would just like to take this opportunity to say on behalf of all of our young athletes, thank you to the Horwich Rotary in providing us with the indoor sportshall equipment and your kind support with the Christmas Heptathlon, which we have held for 3 years now and we have raised nearly £1,000 to charities.

We have kids with all different skills and abilities. All the equipment you have provided us has really given us a massive step for a brighter future. It is the chance for children to try all different events.

Presented by Geoffrey Pearson to Natassia Dacre and Carl Foster of Horwich RMI Harriers

Schools in the local area have been taking part in many of our events and then later becoming members. However, our next challenge is to search for qualified coaches to help support us in events and training.

This is great for the local community. I have made new friends, learnt new skills, kept myself fit and had fun. It has been an amazing experience and I am sure all the athletes enjoy it. If you have any questions please ask Carl!

Thank you.”
