GM Junior Fell Champs
Saturday 8th May 2010.
The Greater Manchester Fell Championships where incorporated into the Belmont Winter Hill Fell Race, Horwich had five runners taking part in the various age groups and all won medals.
In the under 12 race Will Townsend had his best race to date winning his category and also winning the Championship with a very strong run, Matthew Brindle looks to be a star of the future winning the silver medal at 10 years of age. Lauren Fairhurst ran well to win silver in the U/12 girls. In the 2 mile race, pride of place went to new signing Sam Bromley finished second in the U/14 race but more importantly was first in the county champs. Not to be outdone Jonathan Powis had his best race to date finishing second in the Greater Man championships.
