The Horwich RMI Harriers & AC is a running and athletics club that was established in 1924 by a group of enthusiastic workers from the Horwich Railway Mechanic Institute – or the Horwich RMI. The modern club participates in road, fell and cross country races, track and field, and boasts use of the Middlebrook Arena track for training, which is also where the club is based from.
The club has a long history of success both in races and on the field, we currently have a formidable groups of veterens and a very successful juniors section. The following links are the Roll of Honour (which is also on display in the Middlebrook Arean) and the club records.
Membership of Horwich RMI Harriers and Athletics Club is open to anyone who is an amateur athlete. We have over 300 members, representing a wide range of ages and abilities – from our thriving juniors section right up to some seasoned runners who are now in their 70’s.

Horwich RMI Harriers and AC is a non-profit organisation that is run by a committee of volunteers who are voted into position at the AGM each year. The following are links to the constitution under which the club operates and a list of contacts for the current committee members.
Horwich RMI Harriers and AC is also affiliated with UK Athletics and members of Horwich RMI will automatically become members of UK Athletics, and therefore fall under the rules for UK Athletics. Please see the UK Athletics website.
