I started running 5½ years ago when I just happened to see an advert in Asda for a 4 mile charity fun run.  I’d never done any running before but thought I’d give it a whirl!  At the time I thought it was a marathon and I had to keep walking because I’d only managed to get myself up to 1½ miles running without stopping.  I got a buzz from crossing the finish line (not from completing miles 1 to 4 you understand – just crossing the line!)

Following the fun run I joined Running Sisters, a local group for lady beginners then I moved on to Bolton Harriers and I have been at Horwich Harriers for the last three years.

I am pleased to say, since the fun run I have completed a couple of marathons and my aim now is to concentrate on shorter distances and try and improve my times.
