Hi folks,

I started running with Horwich RMI aged 19, and I'm now 35.

My form has been up and down like a yo-yo, I've had more comebacks than Frank Sinatra.

However I've had some success, especially on the roads.  Fell running and I don’t mix very well, I think you will all agree.

    Most Memorable Moments
Taking over from Paul Dugdale at Birmingham in the National Road Relays.  It was my first ever relay for the club.  I was on the 3rd leg.  Paul was on the second.  Martyn Bell had run the first leg finishing in a very respectable 16th or thereabouts - he passed on to Paul Dugdale, who brought Horwich to 1st position and then passed to me.  I think I went pale - very pale!!!  I finished in 16th before handing over to Martin Jones.  What a great day.  Horwich finished 16th I think, giving us our best ever 6 stage result.

Another memorable moment was finishing 4th on the first leg of the Northern 6 stage road relays in Leeds.  As I set off, Pete Bland’s words to coach Norman Matthews were “He’s gone off too bloody quick again!”

There are lots of great moments, I could go on.  But that’s the magic of the HORWICH RMI!!!!

    Main Goal for the Future
Still determined to get under 30 mins for 10K.

Credit goes to Norman Matthews for the photo, for coaching and keeping me in one piece over the years.  Thanks Norman!!!
I am on another comeback at the moment, here we go again!!!!!
