More Experienced Ladies
The club has around 50 adult lady members
ranging in age from 20 to 60’s, with some ladies just starting out
and others with years of experience.
There is a friendly, positive atmosphere at the club with the
opportunity to participate in social runs, with plenty of chances to
discover new routes in the surrounding beautiful countryside.
The people around you will soon become familiar faces.
Interests in road, cross-country and fell running are all catered
for, and we encourage any interested ladies to follow their
interests, under the watchful eye of qualified coaches.
For those wanting to take things a bit further, there are a number
of club training sessions throughout the week. Why not come
along for a taster on a Tuesday evening for a taster of the Senior
Track session at the Bolton Arena from 6.30pm. This is
structured around speedwork for a range of abilities, but no less
suitable for a beginner. There is also a Hill Session on
Thursday evenings meeting at the junction of Foxholes Rd and Factory
Hill, Horwich at 6.45pm. All sessions are lead by qualified
coaches, and are a good opportunity to get some advice (further
information in the Coaching section of the website).
Some ladies build up their confidence enough to want to start
participating in local races (e.g. 5k road) and enjoy the sense of
achievement as well as the camaraderie this brings. Whatever
you are looking for as a runner, Horwich RMI Harriers has something
to offer.
