The weather forecasters got it wrong again!!!!  They promised a warm sunny day with a light breeze – we got a cold windy day with occasional glimpses of sunshine.  It’s a good job we went prepared with rugs, jumpers and bob hats.

The 9 Horwich athletes gave a good account of themselves – considering it was only the second outdoor meeting this season and the competition in the U15s and below was very strong.

You may be wondering who the 9th Horwich athlete to compete at this meeting – yes we have got the dads in the act now (at least it keeps them out of trouble!) - Mark Dacre, father of Tiffany and Natassia, who sometimes helps with the younger athletes at training.  He achieved a creditable 32.49m (3rd) in the senior men’s javelin.

Well done to everyone – let’s hope the conditions are better next time we come to Blackpool.
