On a cold and windy day at Longford Park, Trafford AC track, a small group of Horwich RMI Harriers junior athletes competed in the open medal meeting and came away with 4 unexpected medals.

The two U15 girls Jessica Tomlinson and Becky Murphy-Bates, and the two U13’s Lexi Cochrane and Christopher Tomlinson gave good performances despite the bad weather conditions.  The two younger athletes both came away with medals: Christopher gained a silver for High Jump and a gold for Discus, despite not having competed in these events at an open meeting before.  Lexi got a silver for discus and a bronze for the 70m Hurdles.

Thank goodness the Food Bar was on at Trafford – the chilli and rice were extremely hot favourites with the spectators!!!
