Blackley Pentathlon and Open Medal Meeting
24th April 2005

On a warm sunny day at the Blackley track North Manchester, 2 Horwich RMI Harrier junior athletes excelled themselves in their first ever Pentathlon.  Both came away with trophies; Becky Crompton in the U15’s came 2nd with a new club record and Lexi Cochrane U13’s came 1st also with a new club record.

The competition was exciting right until the results of the last event, the 800m, came through.  It was this that decided the positions, which had been changing throughout the competition.

The 2 girls are not usually 800m runners, but by achieving personal bests in their races they gained enough points to each get a trophy.  They both also achieved personal bests in their shot putt events.
