A number of Horwich RMI’s athletes competed in the medal meeting at Trafford on Bank Holiday Monday and produced an array of personal bests.

Leading the way with three wins was Sam Gough who also produced personal bests in each event with the 400m reducing his club record.  Sam’s younger brother Joseph also had two good runs over 150m and 75m.

For the women Lauren Ashton had two wins and a second, producing two personal bests, whilst Lexi Cochrane picked up two silvers out of four events.  Sangeertha Kingston competed in her first competition for the club and recorded fine times over sprints and hurdles whilst Rachel Pearson produced a personal best in the high jump as well as in in the Shot which also won her the bronze medal.  Also winning medals was Becky Crompton who picked up a bronze over 75m Hurdles.  Whilst Rebecca Keating, Vicky Bates and April Stevenson showed their versatility by competing well in a range of events.
