A few Horwich athletes braved the elements in what must have been the wettest day of the year in Yorkshire at the last Junior League meeting at Cleckheaton.  Nonetheless two new club records were set along with personal bests.

Becky Murphy-Bates continues to show her potential at 400m and in a hard fought race was rewarded with a new club record of 62.9.  Becky backed this up with a close to best performance over 200m.  Also for the girls Jessica Tomlinson added a fantastic 15 cm to her high jump personal best and also set a pb at long jump.

The other club record came in the shape of Bruce Pilkington who is used to setting new figures over 200 and 400m however this time he turned his attention to high jump and equalled the clubs existing record.  For good measure Bruce also equalled his personal best over 100m.  Completing the line up Sam Gough was close to his best over 200m and battled hard in poor conditions over 400m.
