Young Athletes League
Salford, 3rd June 2007
Horwich RMI young athletes once again finished in first
position after their Young Athlete League Meeting on Sunday.
Matt Storey led the way for the U17 men by winning both the 100m and
200m whilst for the U17 Women Charlotte Gaffney won the Long Jump before
anchoring the 4 x 100m relay team to victory.
At U15 level Danny Crompton and Dylan Smith found themselves up against
some class sprinters but still managed to pick up valuable points whilst
for the girls Dionne King recorded three wins including an impressive
100m whilst the 4 x 100m relay team of Tiffany Dacre, Rachel Pearson,
Becky Buchanan and Feyi Aribisala once again broke the club record.
The U13s continue to be very strong and proved this with double wins in
the boys from Andrew Keat and Matthew Ault (High Jump) and Matthew Ault
and Tim Raines (Shot) whilst for the girls Ellen Warberton continued her
unbeaten run over the hurdles and Katy Voce out-kicked her nearest
rivals over 1200m. Both boys and girls relay teams once again came
