Primary League Meeting, Wigan
Round 2, 22 June 2007
This was the 2nd Meeting held for the 2007 season for
Year 2 to 6 and our Team turned out 13 athletes on the day despite the
terrible weather on the night!
There were some impressive performances on the night including promising
High Jumps from Cameron Critchley, Sophie Williams and Amelia Atherton,
who all cleared 0.90m. In the Soft Javelin, Jonah Saunders threw
9.20m for 4th place and Sophie Williams reached 9.90m for 2nd in the
Girls event.
In the older Yr 5&6 Category, there were great performances from Beth
Miller and Matthew Dickinson.
This match was affected by the inclement weather, so was held indoors,
which meant no track races could take place, however, we did manage to
get through the four field events scheduled for that evening.
Credit must be passed on to the children who behaved magnificently
throughout the evening considering the confined space of the indoor
training facilities. Thanks to all those parents that helped out
on the night.
We look forward to seeing you at the next meeting on 20th July 2007.
